We recently took on a job that most shops would call impossible: building and delivering two custom switchboards in less than 10 days. The project included both a 1600 Amp and a 2000 Amp unit. We’ll break down the 2000 Amp board in a separate post, but here are the details on the 1600 Amp build.

This is a refurbished, 2-section 1600 Amp Switchboard rated for 480/277V. It is housed in a NEMA 3R outdoor enclosure and features a 1600 Amp Main Circuit Breaker equipped with an Arc Flash Maintenance switch for added safety during service.

The distribution section is set up as follows:

(3) 400 Amp 3 Pole Circuit Breakers with Shunt Trips

(1) 800 Amp 3 Pole Circuit Breaker

(1) 100 Amp 3 Pole Circuit Breaker
